To celebrate the launch of their debut album ‘Another City, Another Sorry’, The Answering Machine will play three special hostel gigs to coincide with the release next week, two of them in our very own Hatters hostels!
The first one is taking place in Hatters Manchester, which has already proved as an excellent venue for small gigs in the past.
The tour then moves on to our Birmingham hostel, where we have just opened a brand new common area in our basement and are very excited that it will see its first night of live music so soon!

Are you as mad as a FERRET?
Then join us in the
MAD FERRET FESTIVAL - 12-13 JUNE 2009, Platt Fields Park.
Get you moves out because we are going to dance our socks off!!
The Streets,
Pendulum (DJ Set),
Roots Manuva,
Finley Quaye,
Franz Ferdinand (DJ Set), … These are just a few of the 60 bands and 100 DJs that will entertain you over the two days on 9 different stages!
As there is no camping available at the festival
Hatters or
Hilton Chambers are the perfect places to stay over the weekend!
Platt Fields Park is about 2 miles from the city centre (where we are) and is easily reachable by public transport or even by foot if you still feel like walking after a whole day of partying. A taxi won’t cost a lot either!
Join up with other festival goers in the hostels, meet new friends before you even get to the park and, at the end of the day, have a good night’s sleep to prepare yourself for a second day of partying, drinking and dancing!
For more infos on the festival check
www.madferretfestival.com or their
facebook page.
Exciting Stuff!
Perusing the internet I discovered a gem – a Margaret Thatcher colouring in book page. Feeling that this could not go unnoticed in the many piles of junk I find on this blessed internet, I thought to make this a part of my life, and your life too.
Click HERE to see for yourself!
.I’m getting all you lovely backpackers to colour in a page for me so that you can be involved in decorating one of our walls with her face.
… or we might do a roof, then we’d have a thatched roof.
