Manchester Pride Big Weekend 28th-31st August 2009!
Yes ladies and gents get your glad rags on because Manchester Pride is back!
The event is mainly held in the gay village in and around Canal Street – home of Manchester’s massive gay scene – and includes a big carnival parade and four days filled with tons of events and activities.
The ever popular Kings and Queens competition has this year stepped up to the Main Stage! Bigger and better for 2009, the final of the competition sees the opening of the Big Weekend in true camp style!
The big colourful parade of floats and walking groups will be at 1pm on Saturday (29th) and is not to be missed!
Over the rest of the weekend expect lots of live music including The Human League, Bananarama, Kid British, The Whip, Kelly Rowland, an Alphabeat DJ set and oh yes… the one and only Peter Andre on Monday (30th)! There will also be funfair rides, dancing arenas, chill-out and family areas, market & community stalls and much much more throughout the whole weekend!
All this is a huge celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and attracts more than 70,000 people every year!
Make sure to be there, experience this impressive community and enjoy the variety of entertainment and activities! Get more information on the official Manchester Pride 2009 website:
