Not only is Manchester the home of music as we know it and Liverpool the home of the true music wizards of the last century, Elvis apparently thinks so too and we have just got wind of two exclusive concerts that the king is playing next month

Aging has not mellowed this crazy guy as he celebrates his 75th birthday (happy birthday wherever you are) and he plays the MEN in Manchester on February the 26th and the fabulous new Echo Arena in Liverpool on March the 7th. Get your tonsils ready to warble for what promises to be the wierdest gig of the year. And sure you may as well stay with us and we can all sing happy pre army period Elvis songs and argue over his greatest movies (the cowboy one where he gets framed by a bunch of nasty bad cowboys would be ours)

and this one here? he was the funniest uh huh...

The snow is falling and the city looks gorgeous in white and if you are lucky enough you might be spending some quality Hatters time with us over Christmas if the snow falls continue. Liverpool Hatters hostel will be the cosiest place in the whole country and we might even have a snow sculpture made especially for you…maybe.

if you look closely enough you will see our mascot seagull...at the back there...see?

Liverpool city centre has been invaded by an army of penguins this winter, as a finale to the cities celebrations for the “year of the environment”. Following on from last year’s Lambanana spectacular, the penguins have been designed and decorated by local schoolchildren, artists and celebrities alike, and are proving to be a winner with tourists looking for a unique and exciting way to explore the city, as well as educating local children of the perils of climate change. As with the Lambananas, the penguins are featured as part of a wintry trail around the cultural hotspots, retail areas and famous streets of Liverpool. Trail maps are available at the Hatters Liverpool reception desk. Go Penguins
Manchester United is battling Liverpool this Sunday at Anfield. If you can’t find accommodation in Liverpool for this clash then you can always stay in Manchester its only a 45-60min train ride away!! Also for all the Manchester United fans you can then watch it with other fans and get into the spirit of the game.

Manchester City on is having to protect their ground from the southern warriors Fulham F.C. I’m sure there are still tickets available, so for those of you who just want to watch a big match in a big stadium this a brilliant opportunity!

Here are some bars you can watch the games in:

Dry Bar – Oldham street
The Varsity – Oxford Street
Joshua Brooks – Princess Street
Lass O’ Gowrie – Charles Street
Scubar2 – Chester Street
